Yesterday, Sunday, the Hajj and Umrah Directorate of the Syrian Ministry of Endowments issued a statement clarifying the instructions related to regulating entry to the city of Mecca during the Hajj season 1446 AH – 2025, in line with the instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The statement said: “The Hajj and Umrah Directorate in the Syrian Arab Republic reminds our honorable fellow citizens, and all members of the administrative, health, legal, and media cadres, of the decisions issued by the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding regulating entry to the city of Mecca during this year’s Hajj season 1446 AH, corresponding to the year 2025.”
The Directorate clarified the instructions regarding the mechanism for entering the city of Mecca, which were as follows:
- Residents are prohibited from entering Makkah Al-Mukarramah starting Wednesday, Shawwal 25, 1446 AH, unless they have a valid permit issued by the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Starting Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi’dah 1, 1446 AH, corresponding to April 29, 2025 AD, all visa holders, with the exception of those holding a Hajj visa, are prohibited from entering or remaining in the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
- Holders of work permits in the Holy Sites, holders of a resident ID issued by the Holy City, and holders of valid Hajj visas are exempt from this ban.
The Directorate emphasized to all its staff the need to fully adhere to these instructions and to work to issue the required permits through the designated official platforms (Absher Individuals – Muqeem Portal), while ensuring that all official documents are carried while traveling.
