Latakia – Details Press
The first ship carrying wheat arrived at the Syrian port of Latakia on Sunday after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
The official SANA news agency did not reveal the quantity of wheat or its source. It only published photos of the unloading process.
Syrian Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Maher Khalil al-Hassan previously confirmed that Syria will achieve self-sufficiency in wheat production by the 2026 season.
The Syrian government issued two tenders in March to purchase 200,000 tons of wheat.
